New Year, New Theme

“Nothing in the universe can stop you from letting go and starting over.”
—Guy Finley

Many people feel that 2016 was a disaster.  Some are calling it the “worst year ever” all over social media.  While I empathize, that’s not my perspective.  Yes, 2016 was filled with challenges.  On the other hand, I know a lot of people (including myself) who experienced personal triumphs as well.  In either case, we can choose to let go and start over with the New Year, with each day, with each breath.

If you haven’t already, take a moment to reflect back in detail on 2016.  Where were you at this time last year?  Where did you succeed in 2016?  Where did you fail?  How are you different now then you were a year ago?  What’s important to you now?

My theme for 2016 was Carpé Diem.  Of all the yearly themes I’ve chosen in my life, it’s probably the one that I’ve honored most fully and most successfully … so far.  After spending most of my life focused on my career, my Hero’s Journey, and giving to others, I met and fell in love with my soulmate and returned to acting on the stage in an incredibly fulfilling role and production.  A peak among peak experience!

As far as my Hero’s Journey goes … 2016 was a year filled with some challenges and failures as well as a lot of learning – All of which paves the way for moving forward in 2017.

Here are some questions to help you mindfully reflect on 2016 and step into 2017 in an empowered way …

•    What is it time to let go of?  (habits, limiting thoughts, outdated themes)

•    What are you embracing going forward?

•    What’s your theme for 2017?

•    What actions are you committed to taking?  Where do you need to spend your time, money and energy to bring your theme to life by putting it into action?

My theme for 2017 is Magical Momentum.  I’m releasing fear, struggle, “not enough”, grasping and doing it all alone; while embracing intuition, nourishment, partnership, flow and letting my life sing.  I’m committed to doing the work of putting myself and my work out there in order to help others.  At the same time, I’m making choices that keep the full-spectrum life I brought to life during the year of Carpe Diem alive while taking that abundance to another level.

While it’s bittersweet to say goodbye to Carpé Diem and 2016. I’m excited to step into Magical Momentum and the adventures of 2017. I’m grateful for my re-awakening, my love, my family, my friends, the wiggle in my toes, and the fullness in my heart.

And I’m grateful for all of you and what bring to the world. 🙂

WooHoo!!!  Happy New Year!
