In honor of Valentine’s Day this week, let’s get intimate …
20 years ago, my acting teacher took my breath away with these words:
“Part of you wants to be seen.”
At the time, I was in a swirling love-hate relationship with being seen.
I wore a mask.
Armor, really.
Jaw tight. Heart guarded. Pretending to be “fine.”
In that moment, he held the space, and I made a choice:
Heart open. Armor down.
For the first time, I truly let myself be seen.
That moment changed everything – in my acting, speaking, and living.
When we allow ourselves to be seen in one corner of our lives that stretches our capacity for connection everywhere.
This week’s mini-episode of Soulful Speaking, Dare to Be Seen: How Intimacy Fuels Great Speaking, is all about finding the courage to connect.
Not surface-level connection. Deep connection.
The kind that says, “I see you. I feel you. I’m here with you.”
The kind that unleashes one-of-a-kind presence. The kind that moves people.
Listen to the episode and discover how intimacy is a secret to charisma that no one talks about (while stretching your intimacy muscles throughout your life.)
With love & passion,
Lauri
