I want to let you in on a little secret …
The very thing you’ve been taught to think of as a flaw
is actually your greatest gift.
You feel what others feel.
Physically. Emotionally. Energetically.
You are an empath.
You’re like a magician born into a world of mere mortals.
A grey-scale, black-and-white world.
You, on the other hand, are in color.
As you walk through the grey-scale world, starlight envelops you and trails behind you.
You notice what others don’t.
You sense tension before it’s named.
You feel joy before it’s spoken.
You pick up on subtle emotional weather shifts long before anyone else in the room.
And because most people don’t see in color, you’ve wondered:
“If what I’m noticing mattered, wouldn’t someone else have already said something?”
No.
Because they don’t see it. They don’t have your gift.
You may have been told you’re:
Too sensitive.
Too emotional.
Too intense.
Too much.
So you learned to dim.
For years, you’ve tried to fit into the grey-scale world.
Toning it down.
Shrinking your awareness.
Pretending the starlight wasn’t there.
But here’s the truth:
Empathy is not fragility.
It is heightened perception.
Your very own magic wand.
It’s like having x-ray vision in a room full of people who can only see white walls.
That’s why it can feel overwhelming.
Because you’re processing more.
Untrained empathy feels like drowning.
Embodied empathy feels like power.
Empathy is medicine.
But medicine requires strength. Boundaries. Regulation.
Your work is not to toughen up.
Your work is to strengthen your roots.
To learn how to stay connected to yourself while feeling the room.
To discern what’s yours and what isn’t.
To wield your sensitivity consciously instead of absorbing everything around you.
When you do that, everything shifts.
You stop shrinking.
You stop apologizing.
You stop hiding your color under a grey coat.
The world does not need you to dim your light.
It needs leaders who can see in color.
Empathy is your superpower.
It’s time to learn how to use it.
With love & passion,
Lauri
