This quote delighted me when I came across it, so I had to share.

Fun IS Good.

As kids, we knew this. We embraced fun like it was as important as air. Then we grew up and lost the fun somewhere along the way.

In college, once I finally started getting cast in some plays, I suddenly got very serious and stressed out.

Just when I needed it, a wise classmate blurted: “It’s called a play for a reason. Play.”

Not only did she jolt me into having fun again; she brought me back to life! In that moment, she reminded me that I finally had what I’d been striving for for so long, but I wasn’t even enjoying it.

Thank goodness!

Ever since that day, I’ve tried to remind myself, friends, colleagues, and clients that fun is good.

Sometimes it’s “SeriousFun” because things like art and speaking are so important to us, but if it’s too serious and not enough fun, it’s more like a withered flower than an art form.
