Magnetic Selling: From Icky to Aligned

by Lauri

For years, I struggled with making offers.

Sometimes I completely forgot to ask.
Other times, I’d over-explain like a District Attorney proving my case on Law & Order.

Neither felt good.
Neither worked.

I still remember one of my earliest workshops. The room was buzzing—people were lit up and leaning in. Afterward, the curator helped me carry my things to the car. He turned to me and asked, “May I give you some feedback?”

I braced myself for criticism.

Instead, he said:
“You had them in the palm of your hands. They wanted more—and you didn’t even ask.”

That moment hit me hard.
I realized I wasn’t fully serving my people if I didn’t at least invite them to continue the journey.

Why “Speak to Sell” Feels Wrong

Like many soul-driven entrepreneurs, I tried following those “speak to sell” formulas. But they always felt icky—like I was putting money at the top of the food chain.

Here’s the problem:

  • Those scripts were designed to trigger scarcity and panic.
  • They treat selling as a high-pressure performance instead of a moment of connection.
  • They turn your talk or workshop into one long commercial—and your audience can feel it.

If you’re a loving rebel, ambitious empath, or a wild-hearted leader, you know that doesn’t work. It’s out of alignment.

The Sacred Shift: Speak to Serve

What finally changed everything for me was this shift:

✨ Replace Speak to Sell with Speak to Serve.

When you design your talk, workshop, or consultation with service and transformation at the center, your invitation becomes a natural extension of the journey.

Selling isn’t about pushing or convincing.
It’s about resonance.
It’s about holding the space for someone else’s transformation—and then inviting them to keep going.

Head, Heart, Soul

Over the years, I noticed three layers of growth in my own selling:

  • Head – Remembering to actually make the ask.
  • Heart – Asking from a place of genuine excitement to work with someone.
  • Soul – Inviting from a place of non-attachment. Trusting the other person to choose what’s best for them.

When head, heart, and soul come together, selling becomes magnetic.
The right people are drawn in. The wrong people are naturally repelled.

It’s not pressure. It’s presence.

If you’ve ever felt that making offers was awkward, manipulative, or just not you—I invite you to try this reframe.

👉 Instead of asking, “How do I convince them?”
Ask, “How can I serve them?”

Because what calls in your people isn’t the pitch.
It’s your presence.
