The Magic of Intention

by Lauri

It all started with a tree climbing ropes course 12 years ago ✨✨✨

I was scared shitless. I mean the doubling over and nearly vomiting on myself kind of fear.

We were supposed to do our climb in honor of our life purpose, but my knees were knocking so loud, I couldn’t hear myself think.

So, I tapped into my intuition, and this is what came to me:

“I need to be deeply present in the moment while expressing myself authentically on my voice.”

Then I sort of floated my intention to the back of my brain, put one foot in front of the other, and began my climb. 👣

It was going really well. I was even enjoying myself!

Until I made the mistake of looking down. Oops!

That made me want the helicopters and rescue crews to come save me.

I felt this wave of emotion and energy rising up from within me, wanting to be expressed. 🔥

At first, I clenched my throat and suppressed it.

And then, I remembered that I’d made the commitment to be deeply present in the moment while expressing myself authentically on my voice.

So, I opened my throat and let the sound out.

That sound became a primal, crying, birthing tantrum on the side of that tree!

(People on the other side of the forrest heard me. I’m just sayin’)

Once I let whatever that was die, I popped up and scaled the rest of the tree like Spider-Man.

That experience created a deep, embodied belief within me that leadership means being deeply present in the moment while at the same time moving forward to create change.

It sits in the creative tension between the present and the future.

Between presence and vision.

Ever since that day I’ve been setting intentions in my life.

For me, intention is what makes being deeply present in the moment while moving forward to create change possible.

It makes my leadership possible.

That’s why I’ve been sharing my intentions on Social Media for YEARS.

It’s by setting an intention that I can be in that magical tension between the present moment and the even better future we are all courageously doing our part to help create. 🔥✨❤️
