Tricky thing about soul suckers

by Lauri

Do you ever feel like you keep battling the same soul suckers over and over again?

Watch this video (originally recorded live) to learn a tricky thing about soul suckers that just might help bring you some peace…

[or keep scrolling if you prefer to read. :-)]

I’d love to hold space for you as you shine the light on your Soul Suckers and set your voice free. Book a breakthrough session.

It would be my honor to support you.

The soul suckers are my name for the inner critic.

The resistance.

That voice in our heads that wants to protect us anytime we feel vulnerable – especially when we’re growing or transforming.

I sometimes wish that we’d only need to notice them, learn about them, learn from them, and release them from being in charge one time in our entire lives.

Unfortunately, that’s not how it works.

I don’t know about you, but I tend to learn the same lessons again and again.

This used to frustrate the bejeezus out of me until I realized, it’s that spiral of learning thing.

Each time we notice them, learn from them, and release them, we’re getting it in a deeper and deeper way.

In our bones.

In our core.

As we do that, we embody our whole self even more.

The soul suckers tend to show up in our creative process, which can include everything from creating works of art, to writing a blog, to creatively living our lives.

Whenever something really matters to us.

Things that matter to us make us feel vulnerable,

Those soul suckers are going to show up whenever we’re up to something that’s really important: That involves that creativity or transformation or vulnerability.

Whenever we’re honoring our values in a new way.

They’re here for life. If we’re going to keep growing and changing, they’re going to keep showing up again and again and again.

Now here’s the thing that I would love for you to remember:

Those soul suckers only speak to us when we’re doing something that’s important enough to get their attention.

Courage. Creativity. Vulnerability. Transformation.

It’s potent. It’s alive.

If it weren’t, they’d be quiet.

If they care enough about what we’re doing to try to protect us, that’s a huge sign that we’re on to something big.

That we’re doing something meaningful

Otherwise they would be silent,

They wouldn’t care enough to engage.

If they do, it means something big is happening.

I know. It’s a tricky thing.

My hope is that now that you know this, over time, you might develop a sense of peace with them and their role in your creativity.

With love & passion,
